Resumption of outdoor tennis activity

At long last!  Following the Government’s easing of restrictions, our courts are now open enabling recreational tennis to resume, including singles and doubles social play, 1:1 coaching and formally organised activity for groups.  Please ensure you book a court first and continue to observe social distancing and frequent hand-sanitising.

The LTA has produced a simple summary grid outlining what the various steps of the Government’s  roadmap means for tennis activity, which can be downloaded via the link below. The document includes a provisional grid for each of the four steps of the roadmap, and will continue to be updated as and when the LTA receive confirmation of further detail from Government and Sport England on the restrictions that will be in place for future steps of the roadmap.

Welcome to Headcorn Cricket & Tennis Club

Headcorn Cricket Club was first established in the village as far back as 1870 and has flourished ever since with tennis becoming part of the Club in the 1960s.

For juniors, the Club will be running All Stars and Dynamo Cricket coaching sessions during the summer months.  For further information please contact Kevin Richardson

The Tennis Club is LTA affiliated with three fully floodlit hard courts plus ample parking, clubhouse and licensed bar for social events, all in an idyllic rural setting on the outskirts of Headcorn village. The courts are available to club members for play 7 days a week throughout the year.

The club provides for all standards and ages, with an established and successful junior coaching programme. Social tennis takes place on Tuesday and Friday evenings, being a popular and fun environment to play.

Men’s, Ladies and Mixed Teams take part in the Kent, Ashford and Maidstone Leagues, all year around.

We welcome all new members, individuals and families. (For details of membership subscriptions please go to the Membership page). Whether you are new to tennis, re-kindling an interest in the game or just looking for somewhere new to play, come along and gives us a try.

During the day the courts are generally available.  Evenings, other than club nights, i.e. Tuesdays and Fridays, the courts are available for play apart from when matches are in progress when the single court is available.  Saturday mornings are usually reserved for junior coaching.  To check availability of courts please access the club’s booking system via the booking page or check the notice board where a list of match fixtures is on display.

Members can book courts for periods of up to 2 hours. On days/evenings when matches are in progress on Courts 2 and 3 the single court, Court 1, is usually available.

Club Nights on Tuesday and Friday evenings generally start at 8pm and are for adult members i.e. over 16 years of age except by invitation when over-14s may be given ‘privileged’ status.

Tokens for the floodlights are available from committee members or in the bar – £3  per token.  A token lasts approximately 1hour.

Maidstone League matches are played during weekday evenings; Ashford League and Kent League matches are played at weekends.  Matches are played throughout the summer and winter.

Visitors are welcome to play at the club and should pay a visitor’s fee of £3 at the bar or to a committee member. A visitor is limited to 3 sessions per season.

As an LTA registered club the club is required to meet certain standards which include having in place a Safeguarding Policy and also a Diversity and Inclusion Policy.  For full details please click on the links below:
